I was born and raised in Japan and think this is definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants around here. Very authentic and their food is so much better than those overly priced Japanese restaurants in the city. If you like izakaya style restaurant, you will enjoy it!!

This place really serves the best Japanese Izakaya food in Chicago. We tried their okonomiyaki ($11), agedashi tofu ($6.50), chicken karaage ($7), hirekatsu ($14), and aburi battera sushi ($12). Everything was very delicious. We especially loved their okonomiyaki because they have eggs and yakisoba noodles in it. Their aburi battera sushi was special as well as they put shiso leaves in them giving them a nice refreshing taste and smell. They also have a good selection of alcohol: from sake, beer, and wine. I highly recommended this restaurant. I'll definitely come again to try their other menus.

Their ramen is SO GOOD. My friend and I got the spicy miso ramen. The ramen is cooked to perfection where it had that nice chewy, thick texture. Their pork, chicken-based broth is not heavy or greasy at all. You don't feel gross afterwards. It's not too spicy where you feel like your mouth is on fire or you’re sweating like bullets. It has the perfect amount of kick to it where it's not overbearing, and you can still enjoy eating your ramen. Their char siu is so tender that it shreds easily in the soup. I loved the wood ear mushroom bc of its texture. The half-seasoned egg was perfect. Their roasted green tea is so good and helps you digest all that ramen you ate. I will def come back here again to try their other dishes esp their chicken katsu.

This place is a hidden gem! It has a focused menu of beautifully prepared and presented authentic Japanese food.  Everything was amazing, but especially don't miss the Agedashi tofu appetizer! Can't wait to return.

Thumbs up for this authentic Japanese restaurant in Schaumburg! There's not many place that I go back twice within a week! It was worth to drive 45-50mins to have a nice dinner here. We ordered 'ABURI CHAR SIU' which is seared marinated pork belly slices. This thing was absolutely delicious! The best pork cha siu that I've ever had! Also, we had the sashimi platter which was a chef's choice style, ENGAWA YUKKE: marinated spicy flounder fin, the TONKATSU RAMEN and 'ABURI BATERRA' which is seared, cured marinated mackerel pressed box sushi. It looked very simple but the taste was soooo goood! Everything here is worth to try. Service was great. Food was phenomenal!
